This month, we're focusing on 250 years of Freedom in the United States of America, and preparing for a 75th Anniversary Celebration of our Own
As we celebrate our 250th year of Independence in America, we can get caught up in the fun and fireworks. And we hope you do! But it's also good to reflect a little deeper on what the Declaration of Independence started back in 1776. Those freedoms our forefathers claimed for themselves and for the next generations of American's has driven miraculous growth and innovation and a better way of life for all, in ways that Washington, Jefferson, Hancock and Franklin could never have dreamed of.
Our country's freedoms changed banking almost immediately! In 1776, colonists relied on British pounds, Spanish dollars, and French or Dutch Coins. Or they bartered between themselves for what they needed. In 1785, the American dollar was authorized. Six years later, Alexander Hamilton championed the First Bank of the United States. The Stock Exchange started one year after that.
